Who We Are
Canship Ugland Ltd. is a joint venture of Canship Ltd. of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, and the J.J. Ugland Companies of Grimstad, Norway. Both companies have been marine vessel operators and managers for many years, each with an impressive historical profile. Newfoundland's Canship Ltd., a company within the Pennecon Group, has operated in the harsh environment of Eastern Canada since 1986, and provided management services for the cable ship John Cabot, the burying of a telecommunications cable between China and Korea, and the provision of tugs and barges during construction of the Hibernia GBS at Bull Arm. Canship's Norwegian counterpart - J.J. Ugland Companies - founded in 1930, is owner and operator of shuttle tankers, bulk carriers, heavy-lift vessels, and barges. Indeed, with such experienced parent companies, it is not surprising that Canship Ugland Ltd. is a leader in marine vessel services.
